A Ramsey man has been fined after for drunk and disorderly behaviour after he lost the key to his flat.
Kevin Edward Corkill, of Parliament Street, was fined £400 by Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes and banned from purchasing or being sold alcohol for two months.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court how, on December 22 at 3.30pm, police were called to a property at Claughbane Drive in Ramsey.
Corkill, aged 44, was reportedly knocking at a door and trying to gain access to the property repeatedly.
When officers arrived Corkill was said to still be knocking and shouting.
He was then said to have approached police and been ’frothing at the mouth’ as he shouted about losing his keys and coat.
Police tried to help him but the occupants of the address said Corkill’s coat and keys were not there.
But Corkill’s anger continued as he shouted at police and swore, saying: ’Go back inside and get my items. How am I supposed to get in my flat?’ He continually tried to go back to the property and was eventually arrested.
Corkill’s rage continued as he was put in a van and taken to custody where he refused to give officers any information.
Defence advocate Paul Glover said: ’Mr Corkill is incredibly sorry to police and anyone who heard the incident.
’He was frustrated at not being able to gain entry but understands he overstepped the mark.
’He had simply mislaid his keys but things have gone incredibly sour for him.’
Corkill, who admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour, was also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs.
