A Douglas man has been sentenced to community service after a row with his then-partner.
Ashley Jordan Sayle, aged 29, of Peveril Street, sent the woman threatening messages and damaged a gate belonging to Port St Mary Commissioners by kicking it as he left her house.
He admitted provoking behaviour and damaging property and was ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work.
He must also pay £20 compensation for the gate.
Defence advocate Deborah Myerscough said that a probation report had assessed her client as a low risk of reoffending.
She said: ’He co-operated with the police, made admissions during interview, and entered guilty pleas promptly. In the intervening period he has sought help and is working on how to deal with ex-partners.’
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also ordered Sayle to pay £125 prosecution costs.
