The police in the Isle of Man are devoting extra resources to ’enhance security’ in the wake of the terror attack in Manchester on Monday.

The UK Government have increased the terrorism threat level to Critical.

The Manx force says it is taking a ’proportionate response’ to this and asays dditional resources are being deployed ’to offer reassurance and to enhance security’.

A spokesman said: ’One aspect of this means you will see more Officers on foot and mobile patrol.’

Police say residents who are travelling to the UK or other countries should consider their security and take sensible precautions.
