A motorist lost control of their car on the Mountain Road this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Black Hut, after the vehicle had ended up on its side with one person still inside.

Firefighters from Ramsey stabilised the vehicle then assisted the person out of the vehicle and handed them over to the Isle of Man Ambulance service for checking over.

Crews were there for approximately 15 minutes.

Icy patches have caused problems on a number of roads today.

Gritters have been sent to Foxdale and the Mountain Road.
