A Colby man has appeared in court after admitting drink-driving.

David Mahon, aged 48, of Station Park, failed a breathalyser test with a reading of 52 - the legal limit is 35.

Police spoke to Mahon after he stopped at Station Park on January 19 at 5.55pm.

They had received information he had been drinking.

Mahon told police he had drunk four pints of lager and failed a roadside breathalyser test. At police headquarters he failed a further test.

The court heard that it was unclear whether Mahon had a previous conviction in Liverpool and the case was adjourned for that to be clarified before sentencing takes place.

The case was adjourned until February 4. Bail was granted in the sum of £500.
