A man was almost three times the drink-drive limit when he crashed his car on the Mountain Road.
Robert Patterson, 58, pleaded guilty to drink driving when he appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes on Monday.
He was on the road when Covid stay at home guidance was in place but claimed he had been dropping food off for a relative.
Bailed
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the court that Patterson had to be helped from the vehicle by a member of the public.
Patterson told the police he was over the limit and failed a breathalyser test with a reading of 100, the legal limit is 35.
Defence advocate Paul Rodgers said Patterson was trying to assist a relative who works in the health service by dropping food to them in Ramsey.
Mrs Hughes requested a sentencing report be prepared.
Patterson was bailed, to the sum of £500, until May 12.
He must reside at his home address in Willaston, not to drive and not to leave the island.
