Police warned that the Mountain Road between Ramsey Hairpin and the Bungalow was likely to remain closed for some time while they carried out their investigations.

There was then a second collision involving a car in the area of Brandywell, which led to the Mountain Road between the Bungalow to the Creg-ny-baa also being closed. The driver, a local man in his 50s, escaped with minor injuries.

The whole of the Mountain Road was closed while both accident scenes were safely dealt with but it has since reopened.
