A 51-year-old Ramsey man has been fined £100 for having a dog at large.
Eric James Lyall, of Court Row, did not appear in court but sent a postal admission to the offence.
Prosecuting on behalf of Ramsey Commissioners, Jane Gray told the court how Lyall was seen by a commissioners employee outside the Mitre Hotel in Ramsey on January 9 at 9am with a large brown Labrador.
As Lyall walked to the courthouse and then onto Court Row his dog was said to be following around 30 metres behind him not under control. The labrador was then said to have fouled on the grass near the courthouse.
Lyall was given a fixed penalty notice with a fine of £50 within the required 14 days but failed to pay it, despite being sent a reminder.
He was also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs and was given 28 days to pay with 14 days in default of payment.
