Peel RNLI lifeboat operations manager Allen Corlett said: ’It is important to keep yourself safe while enjoying your outing. Your role in looking after yourself and your family is vital.
’Wear lifejackets, have a means of communications with you, be aware of tide times and weather conditions, and check that your equipment is in good working order.’
He added: ’Throughout the pandemic RNLI crews have remained ready to respond to calls. But any callout may put our volunteers at risk and place an additional burden on the other emergency services.’
