A 20-year-old student from Port St Mary has been convicted of drink-driving.
Thomas Patrick Gerrard, of Clifton Road, pleaded guilty to the offence and will be sentenced on October 3 after the preparation of a probation report.
The court heard how, on August 18 at 11.20pm, a witness contacted police saying that he was following a car and that the driver was ’all over the road’ and ’hitting kerbs’.
Police located the car parked at Gerrard’s Clifton Road address and he confirmed that he was the driver.

Gerrard handed police a prepared statement admitting to drinking six pints of lager before driving and saying that he was ’disgusted with his actions’.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes recorded a conviction.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with conditions that Gerrard reside at his home address, contact probation, not drive and not leave the island without court permission.
