Emergency services were called out to deal with a two-car crash on the Mountain Road today.

The collision involving a Mini and a saloon car took place at the top of Hailwood's Rise at just before 12 noon.

Two casualties were transferred to ambulances and are being treated in Noble’s Hospital for their injuries.

With one carriageway blocked, the Mountain Road was closed from the Bungalow to the Creg ny Baa for a time but has since reopened.

Fire crews from Douglas and Ramsey, together with police and paramedics, were at the scene for about 40 minutes.
