Pancake Day is ’crepe’ing up on us and with it an opportunity to race one of the little delights in a frying pan.

Yes, you batter believe it. Residents will make their way to Maughold Church Hall on Tuesday, where the start and finish line awaits keen racers.

Anyone is welcome to join. It begins in the church hall at 4.20pm where organisers will assort people into age groups ahead of the race, which is at 4.30pm.

A ’racing’ pancake will be provided and participants must bring their own pans. Small and light ones are recommended with a mark to identify it’s yours if you do end up lending it to someone else.

Drinks and - strangely enough - pancakes will be available for £1.

In case of bad weather, search the Maughold Parish Social Club’s Facebook page to find out if it has been cancelled: www.facebook.com/events/251784052415810/
