Six top local acoustic guitarists will come together for a joint concert this weekend.

The first of two AcousticMann concerts features musicians Babs Killey, Peter Corkhill, Chris Killey, Adrian Cowin and Steve Bentham, along with organiser John Gregory, who performs under the name ’Blue John’.

The evening will feature a varied range of styles and will take place at the Laxey Institute this Saturday, October 10, from 7.30pm.

This is a second attempt to run the concert after the original date had to be postponed earlier in the year and Babs Killey, who runs the Ramsey Folk Club since it began 13 years ago, is looking forward to finally joining her fellow guitarists on stage.

’Blue John’ Gregory is a real asset to the live music scene in the island and he works hard to promote and support both local and visiting musicians,’ said Babs.

’I’m dead chuffed that he asked me to be part of AcousticMann alongside himself, Peter, Chris, Adrian and Steve.

’We’ll certainly be covering a good range of genres and guitar styles between us. It’ll be fun.’

Tickets are £10, and available at etickets.im/bjm or from John on 204320 .

The concert will be repeated at the Erin Arts Centre on November 14.
