Andreas Commissioners says they are ‘delighted’ that a community funded play area has finally been completed.

The local authority had faced a number of setbacks before it could get the area on the site of the former Millennium Garden in the village up and running including moving location and bad weather.

Chair Jackie Faragher adds that it has been ‘continuously full’ of youngsters during the school holidays.

‘It was actually our late chair Bobby Clegg who came up with the idea in 2021 and here we are with everything finished,’ she said.

‘Every single day, obviously when it’s not raining, the children come out and they dart straight over there.

‘It seemed that every corner we turned there appeared to be a problem. We’d overcome one and there would be another. But it was all worth it.’
