New stories and pieces of creative writing, inspired by the current lockdown period are being sought by a local cultural organisation.

Aimed at everyone, from seasoned authors to those who have used the previous few weeks at home to put pen to paper for the first time, the Isle of Man Arts Council is inviting people to share their lockdown creative writing.

Over the next four weeks the arts council will ask for writing inspired by certain keywords and will share the work on its website with an award of £100 for each piece shared.

The theme for week one is ’Home’, followed by ’Ritual’ for week two.

Week three will seek work inspired by the word ’Community’ and the fourth week will feature work under the theme ’Gratitude’.

Chair of the Isle of Man Arts Council Marlene Maska MLC said: "We have been overwhelmed with the creativity shown by our island community during the last year, particularly during the lockdown months.

’This creativity has provided a positive and uplifting platform for us all, bringing us together, and we look forward to receiving exciting and inspirational writing.’
