Country, folk and roots music from the other side of the world is coming to the west of the island later this month.

The Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist Caddy Cooper is to make a return to the Peel Centenary Centre stage with a concert on Saturday, April 21.

The solo artist is touring the UK in support of her latest album, ’Over The Wire’, which was released in 2016.

The antipodean folk singer first appeared in the Isle of Man in May 2016, playing a well-received concert to a sold-out crowd and will be returning with her full backing band, a highly talented collective featuring Ben Woollacott, Tom Jaworski and Georgi Georgiev.

Caddy, who is known as ’the girl with the big voice and the small guitar’, has three releases under her belt, with her first, ’Snapshot’, coming out in 2014, followed by an EP, ’Acoustic’.

She received five-star reviews for ’Over The Wire’, with the Australian music magazine ’For The Country Record’ saying: ’Caddy’s vocals are impressive, and although she possesses a powerful vocal range, its beautifully controlled and what you’re left with is a sound as smooth as the cream on my hot chocolate.’

Tickets for the Peel Concert are £15, available from Shakti Mann, Ramsey, Celtic Gold, Peel, Peter Norris Music, Douglas and online through etickets.im/cc
