Beach Buddies volunteers will be at Castletown Bay this weekend, for a beach cleaning session on Sunday morning at 10.30am.

Volunteers should meet at the second car park past Hango Hill before tackling one of the island’s largest enclosed bays for the first time in two months.

Beach Buddies’ Bill Dale said: ’This is an area of coastline where marine litter gathers and collects and cannot find its way out, so Beach Buddies expects there will be a fair amount of work to do for the volunteers.’

Beach Buddies provides all equipment, and disposes of materials collected afterwards, recycling items such as tin cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles.

Volunteers don’t need to register - just turn up and join in. A safety talk is given to new volunteers who are always welcomed, especially families. Well behaved dogs are also welcome.
