Beach Buddies is going to the northwestern coast this weekend to Sartfield - one of the beaches that can hold large amounts of marine litter.
In previous visits Sartfield has proved to be a stretch of beach with a major problem, especially with fishing gear and large plastic items such as fish boxes and oil drums.
However, now that the access to the beach has a Beach Buddies’ bins volunteers have found that members of the public are filling it often, so they are hoping there might not be as much rubbish on the beach as previously.
The event is on Sunday at 10.30am, meeting at the car park by the gate to Sartfield.
Beach Buddies provides all the equipment.
But volunteers need appropriate footwear and clothing.
