The scheduled flight from Ronaldsway to Birmingham has been cancelled because heavy snow closed the runway at the airport in the Midlands.

The scheduled 12.15pm flight departure from the island to Birmingham International has been cancelled.

And the return flight from England’s second city due to arrive in the island at 2.45pm has also been axed.

All flights have been suspended at Birmingham Airport as blizzards continue to batter the region - with up to ten inches of snow expected to hit today.

All air traffic at Birmingham has been grounded while staff battle to clear the runway after it was blanketed overnight.
