Manx Telecom has insisted that further issues with its broadband services had nothing to do with last week’s network fault.

Residents took to social media over the weekend to report issues with their internet access across the island.

Manx Telecom is still investigating the cause of a major outage in which 4,000 business and domestic customers lost broadband access.

That fault was fixed on Wednesday, 48 hours after the network fault began.

Manx Telecom said on Sunday that an issue with a UK partner had affected broadband services for some customers but it has now been resolved.

It said: ’We apologise for any inconvenience earlier today and we appreciate your patience while our engineers quickly investigated the incident - we can reassure customers it was not connected to loss of broadband service last week.’
