Appleby has retained Tier One rankings across all nine of its Isle of Man practice areas in an independent international research and publishing platform that evaluates and ranks law firms.

It marks the third consecutive year the Douglas firm has achieved top-tier recognition across its full-service offering in the Legal 500 UK.

A leading directory for the legal industry, the Legal 500 ranks law firms and lawyers through a thorough and independent research process that includes feedback from clients, private practice lawyers and in-house peers, as well as assessment of a law firm’s transactions and confidential matters.

The latest results also recognise the strength and depth of the firm's talent, with 15 of its lawyers receiving a total of 27 individual rankings.

Appleby continues to hold top-tier status in Banking, Finance and Capital Markets; Corporate and Commercial; Dispute Resolution; Employment; Gambling; Insurance and Pensions; Private Client, Trusts & Tax; Real Estate; and Shipping and Aviation.

Client feedback praised the team as ‘exceptional in the provision of clear, incisive, and highly practical legal guidance’ and noting that its lawyers are ‘not only brilliant professionals but are genuinely interested in what is happening in our business and are always willing to assist no matter the size of the opportunity’.

Improved rankings were awarded this year to Tom Brook (Hall of Fame) and Sophie Corkish (Next Generation Partner) both within the firm's Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice.

Appleby now holds a total of six ‘Hall of Fame’ rankings, awarded to five of its partners: Tom Brook, Charles Davies, Mark Holligon, Garry Manley and Juan Thornley. Hall of Fame accolades are awarded to lawyers who are widely regarded as being at the very top of the profession.

Commenting on the results, Appleby Isle of Man managing partner Mark Holligon said: ‘To achieve top-tier recognition across all nine practice areas for a third consecutive year is something we are extremely proud of.

‘It reflects the quality of our people, our client relationships and our commitment to delivering excellent service.’
