It’s been quite a year for the island’s air registry.
In October the UK Treasury cleared the island of wrong-doing over its VAT treatment on imported jets.
Now the registry has been awarded the accolade of ‘best global aircraft registry 2020’.
It has come from a publication called World Commerce Review.
2020 will be the third year in a row the island’s aircraft registry has won the award.
The publication awarded the title to the registry based on the team’s attention to detail, dedication, focus and customer service.
And the registry has already won several industry awards during 2019.
Simon Williams, director of Civil Aviation for the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry, said: ‘The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry team are delighted to be awarded the title of Best Global Aviation Registry 2020.
‘This win encapsulates the registry’s core motto of ‘‘Safety with Service’’ and principles of facilitating high regulatory standards while delivering excellent customer service.
‘This is further demonstration that we are delivering on my vision that the Isle of Man becomes an international aviation centre of excellence, enabling the wider aviation business community to flourish and grow on island.’
The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry has grown to become the world’s sixth largest private/corporate business aviation register. Earlier this year, the registry won the European Business Aviation Association award for ‘Outstanding Professionalism’ in recognition of the work of the registry team based at Viscount House at Ronaldsway and also saw Mr Williams appointed Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
