Chief Minister Alfred Cannan has been to booming Ireland to drum up trade for the Isle of Man.
He hosted a business reception at the DLA Piper offices in Dublin.
Representatives from more than 50 Manx and Irish companies gathered as he said he was committed to strengthening the Celtic partnership and developing business opportunities between the Isle of Man and Ireland.
The Chief Minister shared the podium with Sean Fleming TD, Ireland’s Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
In his welcome, Mr Cannan outlined his vision for increased business cooperation between the Isle of Man and Ireland in various business sectors.
Digital, sustainable finance, eGaming, insurtech and tourism are just some of the areas where the two countries believe they could cooperate with mutual benefit.
He said: ‘I believe that this visit creates a platform to both strengthen and re-invigorate the business relationships between Ireland and the Isle of Man which will enable us to leverage our longstanding Celtic ties.’
The Republic of Ireland is predicted to have a €65.2bn (£56.3bn) budget surplus by 2027.
Many multi-national companies have settled in Dublin due to low corporation tax, a move possibly exacerbated as the city has become the English-language capital of the European Union since Brexit.
