A Douglas law firm has been recognised in an independent directory that ranks law firms, solicitors and barristers across the British Isles.

Athol Street-based Appleby has secured another strong set of results in the Chambers UK 2027 Guide, maintaining band one rankings across all of its practice areas, while increasing its number of individually ranked lawyers and securing recognition for seven partners.

It is the 13th consecutive year that the firm has held this status across its corporate and finance, dispute resolution and employment departments.

The firm’s partners who achieved improved individual rankings this year include Garry Manley, who was awarded band one status in corporate and finance; Keira Gore, who achieved band one in employment as well as band three in dispute resolution; and Claire Corkish, who was recognised as an ‘Up and Coming’ in dispute resolution.

Client feedback highlighted Appleby's corporate team for its ‘consistently excellent service delivery’, praising its ‘depth of knowledge and experience, combined with a highly solutions-focused mindset’.

The dispute resolution team was described as ‘sharp, commercial and tactful in its advice’ and ‘distinguished by its technical expertise, commercial approach and deep understanding of the Isle of Man legal and regulatory environment’, while Appleby's employment team stood out for ‘the quality, consistency and practicality of its advice’.

Commenting on the results, managing partner Mark Holligon said: ‘We are proud to have maintained band one rankings in this year's Chambers UK Guide.
