Four Isle of Man students have joined Appleby's annual Summer Internship Programme, which aims to provide aspiring lawyers with practical experience of working in the legal profession.

The three-week programme is open to Isle of Man students interested in pursuing a career in law. This year's participants are university students Ify Anaziah, Denitsa Petrova, Hudson Sayle and Holly-Louise Talbot.

During the internship, the students will rotate through a number of departments, gaining experience in both legal and business support roles. Placements include Appleby's Corporate and Dispute Resolution teams, as well as its Compliance, IT and Marketing departments.

The programme also includes legal research, a moot trial, a local corporate social responsibility initiative and a combination of online and in-person training. Training topics include drafting court documents, alongside sessions focusing on diversity, inclusion and belonging.

Appleby said the internship is intended to help students develop professional skills, build industry contacts and gain an understanding of the range of roles involved in the operation of an international law firm.
