After three decades of being ’wedded’ to paper an island law firm has decided to move with the times to a new base.

Gough Law, which specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, has moved to new bespoke offices where the emphasis is on being paperless.

The new base is at Goldie House, Upper Church Street, Douglas.

The team at Gough Law occupied their premises in Anglo International House, Bank Hill, Douglas for the past 30 years or so but decided it was time for a change.

The new office at Goldie House will be closer to the courts and has been fitted out to Gough Law’s specific requirements and design specifications by Apex Ceilings & Partitioning Limited.

The spacious, light offices have been designed in conjunction with Apex to provide a pleasant and modern environment for the staff and clients of Gough Law.

Director Helen Gough, said: ’We have had a great deal of input into the design and construction of our new offices.

’They will be served by a dedicated fibre network cable to meet our digital requirements and complement our dedication to run our business as a paperless office.

’This is a major undertaking for any law firm as the law has been wedded to paper for generations. It is essential that we now adopt a modern approach to business which will be invaluable to both our local and international clients.’

Helen added ’We hope that there will be minimal disruption during the office move and look forward to welcoming clients, old and new to our offices in the coming months’.

The business is led by Alan Gough who is rated as a ’leading individual’ by the Legal 500 Directory and is one of the island’s most prominent people in the legal world.

Director Helen is his daughter and compliance manager HelenMarie Gough is Alan’s wife.

HelenMarie Gough said the firm had recently recruited two new people and 10 people now work for the firm.
