Unemployment has decreased by 477 people compared to November last year, according to the government’s latest labour market report.
In November 2020, the number of people unemployed in the island sat at 770, but is now at 293.
It has also decreased from October to November this year by 33 people, or 0.1% in the unemployment rate (the proportion of economically active population registered unemployed).
About 1,008 job vacancies were notified to the job centre last month - a decrease of 167 compared to October. At the end of the month, 716 remained and of these, 60% (432) were in full-time positions and 40% (284) were part time.
For the month of November, 98 males and 293 females were registered unemployed. The unemployment rate was 0.7%.
In 2020 in the same month, 284 males and 770 females were unemployed, and the rate sat at 1.8%.
