Isle of Man Post Office has suspended all postal services to Europe, Turkey and Canada with immediate effect.
The move follows a decision by Royal Mail and Parcelforce to suspend all services to these destinations.
’All our mail for international destinations is delivered through these mail partners. No items for these destinations will be accepted,’ said a Post Office spokesman.
’It is unclear how long this disruption will remain in place but we will endeavour to keep customers updated via our website www.iompost.com/service-updates and social media channels.’
Today (Monday) is the last recommended posting date for items to the UK using Special Delivery and Parcelforce24.
It is unlikely any mail for the UK sent after today will be delivered before Christmas and therefore the service guarantee has been suspended from tomorrow.
On-island mail is unaffected by these disruptions.
’Please accept our very sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused,’ said the spokesman.
