Unemployment has fallen again.

Already at a 13-year low, the number of people on the unemployment register fell by 17 last month to a figure of 319 - that’s 254 down on the same month last year and the lowest November figure since 2002.

The unemployment rate - the proportion of the economically active population registered unemployed - reduced by 0.1% to 0.7%.

A total of 117 people signed onto and 134 persons left the register over the month.

During November, 728 job vacancies were notified to the Job Centre. At the end of the month, 426 remained. 73% (339) were full time positions and 27% (123) were part time.

International Labour Organisation estimates which include those not registered unemployed but still looking for work, put the jobless figure at 764, compared with 781 in October - an unemployment rate of 1.8%.
