It’s curtain up for an iconic hit musical at the Gaiety Theatre, thanks to the support of three island companies.

Appleby, Crowe Morgan and Ramsey Crookall have pledged support to ensure the island’s summer show, Singin’ in The Rain, goes ahead.

And audiences are promised buckets of hilarity, snappy dialogue and a smash hit soundtrack until August 17 - a hit for all the family.

Matt James, producer of Taylorian Productions, said: ’We’re so grateful for the support of Crowe Morgan, Ramsey Crookall and Appleby. They have collectively pledged their support to the production and their backing means the island is in for a treat.

’Without such sponsorship it simply wouldn’t be possible to stage theatrical productions on this scale.

’Along with the other long-term supporters, they have secured the island’s summer season and we can’t thank them enough.

’This really is a must-see show filled with every memorable moment from the film and a downpour of unforgettable songs.’

The theatrical blockbuster is adapted from the 1952 movie of the same name and has quick witted dialogue, an award-winning score, and fantastic song and dance routines, including the phenomenal showstopping number ’Singin’ in the Rain’.

If that wasn’t enough, there will be a live onstage rainstorm every night - a first for the Gaiety stage and the Isle of Man.

Joanna Crookall, chief executive of Ramsey Crookall, said: ’As a company firmly established in the Isle of Man, it’s a pleasure to give back to the local community.

’We were keen to offer our support when Taylorian recently approached us and are looking forward to what should be a highly entertaining production.’

Appleby partner, Caren Pegg, said: ’The Isle of Man is rich in musical and theatrical talent and, as a long-established part of the Manx community, Appleby is keen to help develop that talent.

’We are delighted to be supporting Taylorian and believe they have chosen a fantastic musical, which both island audiences and visitors will love.’

David Morgan, director of Crowe Morgan chartered accountants, said: ’Singin’ in the Rain is a show we are proud to sponsor. I know the cast and crew will bring professionalism, talent and commitment to ensure every evening is a night to remember and we are sure the island community will enjoy a fantastic production.’
