Enabling clients to seize the opportunities created by the revolution in digital technology will be the focus for Manx Telecom’s corporate and public sector sales team.

The company has made two key promotions – Andrew Honour who is now head of corporate and public sector sales, and Danny Hands, corporate account manager – both part of a major shift in the company’s sales strategy in these sectors.

Andrew Honour congratulated Danny on his promotion, and said: ‘We have a range of initiatives which support employees who are looking for career and personal development, and Danny’s progress is a great example of what employees can achieve by working with us.

‘He first joined the company as a retail assistant in the shop on a temporary contract during the Christmas period, and in the years since then has made excellent progress to become a full-time retail assistant, then assistant manager.

‘I’m delighted that Danny’s loyalty, hard work, and outstanding record in the retail environment have been rewarded with this latest promotion.’

In his new role as corporate account manager, Danny Hands has joined a strong team dedicated to matching corporate clients with products and services in Manx Telecom’s so-called ‘comprehensive business solutions portfolio’.

Andrew Honour said: ‘Digital technology offers amazing opportunities for organisations and businesses of every size and in every sector, from SOHOs and SMEs to major corporations.

‘As the pace of change accelerates, the most successful businesses – and the most effective public sector organisations – will be those that recognise and embrace the opportunities provided by technology.

‘That’s not easy because change can be challenging – at Manx Telecom we understand that because over the last two years we have been rethinking our business, upgrading our infrastructure, and streamlining processes.

‘This has allowed us to create a suite of innovative and competitive new products and services which will allow our clients to reimagine the way they operate, and reap the rewards from the amazing opportunities that digital technology creates.

‘The transformation of Manx Telecom is also creating some exciting career opportunities for staff who join the company from on or off-island, and for those who are already with the company such as Danny Hands who I’m delighted to welcome to our corporate accounts team.’

As head of corporate and public sector sales, Andrew will be aiming to build on Manx Telecom’s existing client portfolio and recent successes.

Andrew Honour leads a team of nine which includes seven dedicated sales and account management personnel as well as technical and sales support staff.

Towards the end of last year, Manx Telecom won an Isle of Man Government contract to provide fixed line communications for essential public services across the island – including critical services for police, fire service, coastguard, Noble’s Hospital, and 999 emergency lines.

New products available to corporate and public sector clients include SIP (cost-effective and reliable IP connectivity), superfast fibre to the premises (FTTP) broadband, the latest cloud services, plus an innovative range of automated, self-service options.
