Manx Care has outlined changes to some of its services during the Manx Grand Prix period, with residents and visitors advised where to seek care if they need medical support.

The Emergency Department at Noble’s Hospital will continue to operate as normal throughout the Manx Grand Prix, which runs from Sunday, August 16 to Friday, August 28.

Meanwhile, the Minor Injuries Unit at Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital will be open from 8am to 8pm during the same period.

GP practices will be closed on Monday, August 31, with cover provided by the Manx Emergency Doctors Service (MEDS).

MEDS will operate from 6pm until midnight on Thursday, August 20, Monday, August 24, Tuesday, August 25, Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27.

It will also provide cover from 6pm on Friday, August 21 until midnight on Sunday, August 23, and from 6pm on Friday, August 28 until midnight on Monday, August 31.

Community Dental Services and NHS-contracted dental services will also be closed on Monday, August 31. Emergency dental care will be available through the Emergency Dental Service between 9am and 11am.

Optician practices will also be closed on August 31. People requiring urgent eye care will be assessed through MEDS or the Emergency Department.

Day services for older adults will be closed on August 31. Manx Care has also advised there will be no transport to Eastern, Western, Northern or Central Laa Meanagh on Friday, August 21 and during the week beginning Monday, August 24.

The Diabetes Centre, Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service, MCALS and Wellbeing Partnerships will also be closed on August 31. Emails and voicemails for these services will be picked up on the next working day.
