Many of the island’s brass bands are to perform a special concert in Douglas later this month to mark the end of the lockdown.

The ’Massed Bands’ event will see several community brass and silver bands perform at the Villa Marina on Sunday, August 16, from 7.30pm.

Among the groups appearing are the Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band, Douglas Town Band, Manx Concert Brass, the Manx Youth Band, Onchan Silver Band, Ramsey Town Band and the Rushen Silver band.

Tickets are £10, with under 16s £1, available from villagaiety.com. All profits made will go to the Friends of Noble’s Hospital.
