Douglas Coastguard assisted with an emergency patient transfer on Douglas beach early this morning.

The team was called to assist at 3.25am.

Due to the weather conditions the helicopter pilot had to land on Douglas Beach, in next to zero visibility,

Douglas Coastguard says the pilot was ‘displaying extreme skill to do so’.

It added: ‘Thanks also to the Police for traffic control and the IOM Ambulance at the scene,the transfer was complete and the team were back on station for 05.25am.’
