A charge of common assault, against Anne Denise McNamara, aged 54, of Birch Hill, Onchan, has been dismissed.

Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court that the complainant in the case had retracted her statement, so the crown was offering no evidence.

Ms McNamara had previously pleaded not guilty to the charge.
