A 24-year-old man from Patrick has been committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for trial.

Liam Gregory Caine has previously denied an allegation of assault causing actual bodily harm.

It’s alleged that he hit his female partner with a motorcycle helmet on March 10.

The woman suffered a 5cm superficial laceration to the scalp, with part of the wound having to be glued.

The offence is alleged to have been committed at the defendant's home, at Glen Maye Road.

Mr Caine appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood on September 15 and was represented in court by advocate Jim Travers.

He will appear at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on a date to be set.

Bail continues.
