An uninsured and untaxed vehicle has cost a Douglas motorist fines totalling £810.
Martin Logan also had his licence endorsed with five penalty points, and was ordered to pay £50 prosecution costs.
Prosecuting advocate Harry Bellis told the court that Logan called police himself on May 16, enquiring about the whereabouts of his Transit van.
The 46-year-old said he thought he’d parked it on Queen’s Promenade in Douglas.
However, officers located it near the Terminus Tavern on Strathallan Crescent.
Defence advocate Ian Kermode said Logan, of Marathon Road, bought the van some months before, and it had been insured until February, but he’d forgotten to renew it.
