Two men accused of a burglary at the Palace Hotel’s kitchen have appeared before magistrates.
Jose Manuel Acuna Martinez, 55, of Belmont Terrace, Douglas, has pleaded not guilty, while Javier Vilas Meis, 42, of Tynwald Street, Douglas, is yet to enter a plea.
The offence is alleged to have been committed on July 21 and involved the alleged theft of stock valued at £582.
Mr Martinez, who was represented by advocate Paul Rodgers, will face a pre-trial review in summary court on October 22.
Advocate Kaitlyn Shimmin asked for Mr Meis’ case to be adjourned until September 10, saying there was a discrepancy over the value of the stock involved.
Both defendants have been granted bail.
