A teenager who assaulted bouncers outside the Outback twice in a week has been put on probation for 18 months.
Eighteen-year-old Kieran William Derek Pressley admitted two counts of common assault and was also ordered to pay each victim £750 compensation.
We previously reported that Pressley arrived at the Outback in the early hours of December 14, with a male and female.
Security staff refused him entry, and this prompted Pressley to swing a punch at a bouncer, hitting him in the head.
Pressley and the other male then both threw punches at the doorman.
Pressley, of Fenella Court, Douglas, was pushed away by the victim and a member of the public also intervened.
The defendant and the other male then ran off, and police searching the area were unable to find them.
At 8pm, on December 20, Pressley returned to the Outback, trying to get in, and was refused entry by a different bouncer.
He again threw a punch, hitting the doorman on the lower lip, causing a cut.
This time he was restrained by security and arrested when police arrived.
Defence advocate Jim Travers submitted references, and said his client had entered guilty pleas at the earliest opportunity, and had no previous convictions.
‘This is probably best characterised as a young and inexperienced drinker taking festive frivolities too far,’ said the advocate.
‘As a consequence of these episodes he has curtailed his alcohol consumption, and is taking a long time to reflect on how he behaves in public upon any return.’
Mr Travers said this was perhaps evidence of his client’s immaturity, and that he had only turned 18 two months prior to the incidents.
Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood told Pressley: ‘This is your chance to make sure that these offences are the only blot on your record.’
