Tesco has confirmed the island’s larger stores will open on Easter Sunday for the first time.

Last year, the bigger stores at Lake Road and Victoria Road in Douglas, as well as those in Onchan, Peel, Port Erin and Ramsey, all closed on Easter Sunday while Express stores remained open.

However, in a departure from 2025, all stores will be open throughout the Easter weekend. The move mirrors arrangements in Scotland, but differs from England and Wales where large supermarkets remain closed on Easter Sunday.

A spokesperson for the supermarket chain said: ‘On Easter Sunday, all of our large stores will be open and there are no changes to hours for standard Express stores across the Isle of Man.

‘We follow all local trading restrictions when agreeing seasonal opening hours.’

Meanwhile, Marks and Spencer will also be open throughout the Easter weekend, with opening hours of 8am to 7pm on Good Friday and Saturday, 8am to 6pm on Easter Sunday and 9am to 5pm on Easter Monday.
