A Castletown teenager has denied making drugs and trying to send them in the post.

Ryan Alexander Woodworth, 19, of Orry Place, pleaded not guilty to two counts of production of drugs and two counts of possessing them with intent to supply.

The charges were said to relate to 5-Fluoro-ADB (also known as 5F-MDMB-PINACA).

Prosecuting advocate Annie Bannister told the court that it is alleged that the defendant attempted to post 15 vials, containing 160 millilitres, of the drug off the island on March 3 and 8.

The substance was described in court as synthetic cannabinoids and vaping juice, and it is alleged that the defendant created compounds himself.

The case has been adjourned until August 25, while more information on the drug is obtained, so that a decision can be made on which court will hold the trial.

Bail was granted.
