A survey has been launched by the government on the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on people in the island.

The Coronavirus Household Impact Survey, conducted by the Cabinet Office on behalf of Treasury and the Department for Enterprise, aims to collect data on the ways in which coronavirus has influenced island life including areas such as current and future spending, employment and household finances.

The confidential results will be used by the government to contribute to the formulation of schemes to support residents and businesses in the future.

Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan MHK (pictured) said: ’This is an extremely challenging time for both people and organisations, with many of us feeling the social and economic effects of the pandemic.

’Several measures have already been introduced as an immediate response to Covid-19, however our island will continue to be affected for some time to come.

’This survey will help us to consider more medium term responses and how best to support households at this time. We would encourage everyone to spare 10 minutes to complete the short questionnaire, and thank people in advance of their participation.’

Individuals are asked to complete the survey by visiting gov.im/about-the-government/departments/cabinet-office/economic-affairs-division/coronavirus-economic-impact-surveys/

The survey is being run alongside the Coronavirus Business Survey, which looks at the impact on individual sectors and the economy.
