Dandara has scooped another award at the Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards For Excellence tonight (Thursday).

The local company, established in 1988, won The Isle Of Man Government Award for Sharing Our Freedom To Flourish.

The award was presented to managing director Seamus Nugent by Treasury Minister Alf Cannan MHK.

Dandara has become one of the UK’s largest independent property development companies with more than 11,000 residential customers but with its head office still in the Isle of Man.

The company employs 170 people on the island and more than 950 across the group.

It has built highly successful long-term partnerships with local businesses, helping to reduce transport miles and putting between £10 - £15 million back into the island’s economy each year.

They have won over 100 industry awards for design and quality. They work closely with UCM, sponsoring its annual constructions skills tests and offering apprenticeships to the winners.

The judges said: ‘Dandara is known for its passionate commitment to the community, supporting many local charities and initiatives.’
