David William Kelly, aged 43, of Ballacrosha, Ballaugh, has pleaded not guilty to careless driving.
The offence is alleged to have been committed on September 22 on the A18 Mountain Road.
He was represented in court by advocate Casey Houareau.
A pre-trial review will be held in summary court on July 6.
Mr Kelly answered a summons and no bail was deemed necessary.
