The team at Ocean Ford has made its bumper delivery of food and toys for animals to the Manx SPCA.

As we reported before Christmas, the team aimed to fill a van with gifts and donations for the charity.

At the time, a spokesperson said: ’It’s not just for Christmas, anything we get will help the Manx SPCA with the fantastic work that they do all year round.’

The ManxSPCA thanked the car dealership online, saying: ’A big thank you to Ocean Motor Village for collecting food donations for all our lovely animals here at the ManxSPC.

’Look at how fantastic that van looks too.’

Sponsorship

Meanwhile, the ManxSPCA are asking people to consider sponsoring a pen in their kennels, cattery or small animals unit in 2022.

The pen sponsorship scheme requires an annual subscription of £100 - which works out at less than £9 a month.

This money will ensure that an animal is safe and warm in a pen that they can call home, with food, bedding, toys and treats.

The charity relies purely on donations to rescue and rehome animals, and receive no government funding.

In a post on social media, the team said: ’Every year we take in over 1,700 animals - they have either been lost or abandoned, escaped cruelty or neglectful conditions; or their owners have moved away or died, or they can simply no longer afford to keep them.

’We provide the animals with love and care in a safe environment until they find their new "forever" homes.

’We also make sure that all our animals receive regular veterinary checks and that any medical conditions are attended to.’

In return, a sponsor will receive:

l the choice of which area you would like to support

l a name plaque on the pen to recognise you or your organisation

l a personalised certificate

And you can visit Ard Jerkyll during their opening hours and see the animals who are benefitting from your sponsorship.
