The Minister for Education says that Manx schools have been losing teachers because of border restrictions during the pandemic..
Dr Alex Allinson says there aren’t enough teachers on the Island and that there is a need to attract more.
’I know teachers who have left because they’ve got families across, whether it is in Ireland or the United Kingdom,’ he told Manx Radio.
’Having been deprived of being able to see them for a year, it’s got too much for them so they’ve left.
’We need to retain the staff here. We need to invest in them. We need to invest in their career development.’
