The A1 is closed between Ballacraine and Crosby Crossroads this afternoon to allow a large tree to be removed.

The Department of Infrastructure said Main Road Greeba would be closed from 1pm today (Monday, August 10), with the closure expected to remain in place until no later than 5pm.

The emergency closure is required to facilitate the removal of the tree.

The closure is also affecting Bus Vannin services 5, 5C and 6.

Bus Vannin said the services would not serve Crosby, Greeba or Main Road, St John’s, and would instead be diverted via Glen Darragh Road and Foxdale.

The road is expected to reopen by 5pm at the latest once the tree removal work has been completed.
