An emergency road closure to remove a large tree from a main road at Greeba Castle has been extended tonight until 7pm.

The A1 is closed between Ballacraine and Crosby Crossroads to allow the removal, which has ‘taken longer than originally anticipated’.

The arborist carrying out the work on behalf of the landowner has advised that additional time is required to complete the operation safely, with the road currently completely blocked by a crane and other equipment.

As a result, this evening's planned closure of the southern section of the Mountain Road for the filming of Hollywood TT movie ‘Isle of Man’ between Creg Ny Baa and the Bungalow will be slightly pushed back and begin at 7pm.
