Aspiring musical performers will get the chance to showcase their talents on the Villa Marina stage next weekend.

‘The Musicals in Concert’ is being produced by Stage-ed and returns following a successful performance and response last year.

The show will feature multiple west-end performers singing numbers from classic shows such as Blood Brothers, Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar and more, alongside island youngsters.

The cast includes Steve Palfreman, who is known for his stint as Mickey in Blood Brothers on the West End.

He also is the co-founder of ‘Stage-ed’ which has run the West End Summer School in the island for 10 years.

Mr Palfreman said: ‘It was so special being back in the island for our summer school this year.

‘There was a real mix of songs from the shows and the kids got to work on dancing, singing and acting.

‘We are so lucky to work with the talent of the children in the island.

‘We are delighted that the forthcoming show will feature some of the local talent from this year’s Stage-ed summer school as they perform a couple of surprise numbers.’

l The cast will be performing songs from the musicals with a live band on Sunday, October 2 from 7.30pm at the Villa Marina.
