Firefighters are currently tackling a blaze in the south of the island.

The incident is ongoing at Ronaldsway Industrial Estate, close to Isle of Man Airport.

One eyewitness said he was cleared from the scene amid concerns that gas canisters inside the site could explode.

He later said he could hear ‘explosions’ coming from inside the building.

Video footage and images show large plumes of smoke billowing from the site, which the eyewitness said could be seen from some distance away.

Several fire crews are currently at the scene attempting to bring the blaze under control.

Police are also in attendance and have blocked access to the site.
